Once again this year, we are providing emergency medical services for the coastal marathon

The Coastal Marathon in Otterndorf is a well-known running event on the North Sea coast. It takes place annually and offers various distances, including the classic marathon, half marathon, relay races, a 10-kilometer run, routes for walkers and Nordic walkers as well as for handbikers (pedalo).

As medical care by emergency doctors and rescue teams should simply be standard at major sporting events such as a marathon, but is associated with high costs for the organizers, the foundation board unanimously decided to ensure the emergency doctor service for the coastal marathon again this year.

The presence of the emergency doctor alongside the medical care provided by the Otterndorf standby team ensured that expert help was immediately available in the event of a medical emergency such as dehydration, circulatory problems, muscle injuries or even cardiovascular arrest. This minimized the time to treatment, which can be crucial in serious incidents to save lives or prevent permanent damage.

Professional medical cover gave the participants and organizers peace of mind and ensured that the event ran more safely.
