The presentations provide valuable assistance for anyone who wants to draw up or update a living will and cover important questions: What is important to consider legally? How can you formulate your own wishes and values clearly and legally in an emergency? The great response shows how important orientation and clarity are to many people in this sensitive area.

It all began with a lecture on February 7, 2024 for the Hanel Senior Citizens' Foundation - a single information afternoon that developed into a regular series of events due to popular demand. Since then, the talks have met with widespread interest in the region, as many people obviously need guidance and clarity in this sensitive area.

This was followed by presentations on October 11 for the senior citizens' advisory council of the joint municipality of Hemmoor and on October 22 in the district hall of the Cuxhaven district as part of the series of events for family caregivers. The last event to date took place on November 2 at the Haus der Jugend in Cuxhaven, once again for the Hanel Seniorenstiftung.

In the series of lectures, interested parties received comprehensive information on how they can draw up a living will in a sensible and legally binding manner. In addition to the legal basics, practical questions were also addressed, such as which decisions should be made in emergencies, who is authorized and which medical measures are desired or rejected.

The interest in the topic of “living wills” shows how great the need for guidance and clarity is on this sensitive subject. We hope that the presentations will raise awareness and help participants to draw up a living will.

In view of the great demand, further lectures are already being planned for the coming year and will be announced here shortly. We look forward to continuing to support people of all ages in this important issue.
